You wouldn’t believe it but making Coffee Ice Cubes could get complicated 🤪 It’s a bit trial and error before you find the right coffee, the right amount of coffee to water ratio.
If you don’t want to be wired all day then choose a regular ground coffee, brew it overnight. If you do want to be wired all day then go for an Espresso roast.😵
16 oz coffee (480 mils) brewed regular strength
Recommended coffee: Crazy Cat 3 Bean Blend it’s a Medium strength and is delicious! or if you’re sensitive to Caffeine but want the coffee flavour then use our Crazy Cat Decaf Coffee just use more coffee & less water (steep overnight)
Cafetire or Coffee Machine
1 Ice cube tray
Brew regular coffee and let it steep for a few hours or overnight – like I said depending on how strong you like your coffee, let it cool to room temperature.
Pour evenly into an ice cube tray, then place into freezer. Once frozen, you can use coffee cubes for up to two weeks.
You see it’s that easy – have a go and experiment.
Cold brew is simple and easy to make but you have to be patient because it takes time to “Brew” and bring out the taste you are looking for. So if possible make it in advance, you can store it in the fridge for a day or 2.
For starters, you need a coarse ground, same consistency as breadcrumbs. Any finer and you risk cloudy, grimy-tasting coffee.
Sterilise a large mason/Kilner jar (or any large receptacle with a lid). Working to roughly a 1:8 coffee-to-water ratio, place your grounds in the bottom of the jar and cover with cold water.
Stir gently until combined and leave to steep for 18-24 hours, either in or out of the fridge.
After 24hrs strain using a sieve (or muslin cloth) to remove the larger grounds. Compost the discarded grounds, and then using a cleaned sieve, strain back into the jar.
Repeat two or three times, until you are seeing no murky residue at the bottom as you finish your pour. If you cannot seem to sift it all out, don’t worry – it simply means your grind was too fine. Practice makes perfect with these things.
Serve over ice, with milk and sugar. Cover and refrigerate the rest – if stored properly it will stay good for a month or so due to the brew’s low acidity
Tip for the perfect homebrew ☕
Adjust the concentration of your cold brew coffee, making it stronger or less strong to suit your taste. Start with a ratio of 1:8 but reduce the water for a stronger cup.
Use filtered water, if possible. This is just good coffee advice in general & your cup of coffee will have a cleaner, sweeter flavor if you do.
Steep min 12 hours. The coffee needs this full time to fully infuse the water but too long and the coffee will start to extract their bitter flavours.
Chill your cold brew with coffee ice cube but if want a totally undiluted coffee experience? Make coffee ice cubes to chill your iced coffee!

Now I don’t want to lull you into a false sense of security and say I’m a coffee millionaire because that would be a downright lie and anyway I’m not trying to sell you anything.
This is where it all really started. I am 46yrs old I have resigned from my secure job. I’m sitting at home thinking “What the hell have I just done”.
Looking back I was exhausted, stressed, unable to sleep.
This is my journey.
What I was looking for:
My new business venture had to be home-based, flexible working hours, gave me the opportunity to build a business that would give me the financial freedom to live the life I wanted.
What I didn’t want:
A boss, cold calling, badgering family and friends to buy my products, stress, 14hr work day.
What I found:
I found my “Why”… the reason I wanted to start my own business. My why was to succeed after being made to feel that I’d failed in my last job. I wanted to prove to myself that I had the ability to provide good quality coffee at a reasonable price to other coffee lovers. And in the process I get to work from home, support my family emotionally & financial – Thats my Why.
To introduce myself, I am based in the UK with my partner Alan and our 2 children.
I am surrounded by my family and friends & having my Parents, aunts, cousins all living locally it’s fairly hectic here at weekends.
I’m a normal person living in a normal place in landlocked Leicestershire.
Did I know that there was a Global phenomenon called the “New Digital Economy” that I needed to be part of? No, I didn’t… but I do now and that’s where I’m heading…driven by coffee!
A brief resume of how I started and where I am today. :
My career started as a Registered General Nurse after leaving school. I qualified and worked for a year to save money in order to Travel. I had to see the world and nothing was going to stop me, it took nearly 2 years for me to get the travel bug out of my system..but it didn’t work as 30yrs on I’m still itching to see parts of the world unknown to me and more importantly I want to experience it all over again with my children.
Having left the NHS I spent nearly 2 years traveling the world. Heading for home and the reality of no money, place to live or a job but I was young and didn’t stress (too much).
I contacted people I knew, who knew someone who needed a well-traveled young thing desperate for a job.
Which led to a career in merchandising with one of the UK’s most successful high street clothing retailer. Traveling, meeting people, communicating with companies all over the world was an amazing experience.
The harsh reality of being a mother.
Times change, children came along and with its priorities of a different kind. Part-time work was like gold dust and with it came an uneasy feeling that I was on borrowed time.
I knew deep down that the company didn’t want to keep on supporting part-time workers and gradually one by one the opportunities were dwindling for anyone one seeking flexible working hours.
It’s a harsh reality when after 23yrs you are faced with – stay and work full time or leave and find myself a 3rd career!
So I left. I had an amazing year, I slept, I recovered.
I laughed again and more importantly decided to put something back into a community that has given much to my family and me.
This is when I started to volunteer. Part-time at the same Infants school my children attended, asking children not to pick their nose or lick the tables!
I listened to them read, corrected their spelling, got covered in glue and paint but most of all I loved it.
At the same time, I started to train as an adviser for Citizens Advice Bureau to help local people find information and support to get them through their various issues. This is something I still do to date.
Doing whatever it takes to make my Coffee business work
A year on and now I need to find paid employment. The thought of going back to retail or any job involving long hours, low pay, demanding managers made me feel physically unwell.
Hard work, earning money and keeping it – that’s where I am heading! … and to the Internet and searching for “Working from home”, “Online business” etc and found Forever Living Products. I love the products but not the business so I needed to move in another direction.
I’ve learned how to be a Marketer of online products I just needed to find something to sell -queue Alan and his bright idea of selling coffee.
It’s something we both love drinking and we had a roaster what we knew who could supply to us.
So I have a product and a supplier.
…and then it occurred to me that I didn’t need to chase customers and convince them to buy my products because if I found a product to sell on Amazon then they would do it for me using FBA or Fulfilled By Amazon.
That was my epiphany or rather this is – this is Freddie our photographers’ cat. Unfortunately, our kitten (whom the company was named after) is no longer with us) She was Crazy, fearless and frankly bonkers and we miss her dearly, she lives on in our new business.
This is me now on my journey, I’m still learning, it’s a continual process.
I’m happier helping other people to achieve what they want out of life and that’s very important to me.
